About Me
Hi there! I’m Evan Mester, and I am a media relations professional, radio promoter, and writer. Not counting the various music forums I would frequent and write for, I got my start in the media world as a DJ (eventually becoming the Music Director) at 91.7 WMUH, the radio station of Muhlenberg College (where I graduated from in 2019 with a BA in Media & Communications). After a couple of internships and putting together a couple of online zines post-graduation, I’d begin my work as a Marketing Specialist at the marketing firm Marauder, spearheading all matters pertaining to media outreach for the company’s artist, industry, and events-related clients. In 2022, I would become the company’s first-ever Media Relations Manager. In addition to my work at the firm, I also began writing for online publications and took up freelance work, namely writing artist bios and promotional copy for highly lauded bands, including Chat Pile, Agriculture, and Sprain. I currently live in New York City.
As a media relations professional, I’ve done everything from helping develop successful B2B marketing campaigns for ticketing companies to secure media partnership-activated programming at conferences and festivals to assisting artists from around the globe in making a meaningful first impact on the US music market.
